international top formations – and the groove goes on...!
Gianni Luescher acquired the basics at the Jazz school in Lucerne, Switzerland,
and achieved a «Graduate with honors» from the “Bass Institute
of Technology” in Los Angeles attending the courses of Gary Willis, Steve
Bailey, Bob Magnusson and Carl Schroeder.
Whether four strings, five strings or fretless
– Gianni Luescher has never been satisfied with just clean basslines. He
feels the most at ease as a “groovemaker” and “soloist”
when it comes to stretching the limits of his instrument. Playing together with
such outstanding musicians as Dave Doran, Joseph Bowie, Jean Paul Bourelly or
John Voirol offers him an ideal and highly estimated multicultural platform,
where he simultaneously exhausts and extends his abilities...
Beside the tours, club-gigs and studio-work, Gianni
Luescher works, thanks to a diploma at the HMT Zürich, also as a qualified
bass-instructor. Last but not least he contributes in his role as an endorser
to the development of the prestigious / acclaimed bass-models of Christof Kost
(Aachen, Germany). Living for and with the bass – Gianni Luescher does
not make compromises.
